An honest exploration of what it’s like to lose your person and find yourself.
Hey!
I'm Carly
I'm the Creator and Host of the So That Just Happened Podcast.
On May 20th, 2021, my life changed dramatically. My husband and best friend for 27 years took his life after losing his long battle with depression. I was left with a 14-year-old son, 2 dogs and a life that was designed for two adults to manage.
Even though that was the worst day of my life, I have been able to come out on the other side and feel stronger than ever. But it took a lot of willingness to do the inner work, face my biggest fears, sit in the mud and really BE in the heaviness in order for me to truly heal.
This podcast is a snapshot of my story, journey, and process of finding my way back to me. It offers tips for healthy grieving and guidance on how to get back to yourself.
It’s filled with practical (and some woo-woo) tools that have helped me heal my broken heart and rewire my brain. I’ll share mindset shifts, manifestation tips, compelling interviews, ways to open yourself up to love again and how to reinvent yourself in the most glorious, unapologetic way.
I’m not an expert on grief or trauma. I’m just someone who has experienced it firsthand.
I hope that through my story, experiences and the knowledge I’ve acquired over the last 30-plus years of studying, practising and teaching personal growth and mindset strategies, you find comfort and hope. That you feel motivated to uplevel your life. That you get inspired to put yourself first and do the work necessary to reinvent yourself so you can live this next chapter of your life unapologetically… on your terms.
